The Maple Leaf Junior Golf Tour (MJT) announced their major award winners for the 2022 golf season, including the players of the year and the order of merit winners across Canada.

The MJT awarded a player of the year for all six age divisions and Red Deer’s Eileen Park was announced as the MJT Girls U15 Player of the Year after a fantastic season on the links. The winners were based on their scoring averages in the required number of tournament rounds.

Park had a successful season winning multiple tournaments including the Alberta Girls U15 Championship and the Alberta Girls U19 Championship, and won by 12 strokes in the U15 girls’ age group competition during the MJT Edge School Spring Classic.

For winning one of the players of the year awards Park will receive a plaque, $500 in funding, and an additional $500 towards expenses for the MJT National Championship in Orlando, Florida Nov. 10-13.

Also taking home an award from central Alberta includes Sylvan Lake’s Ain Lee, who won the Girls 8U 2022 MJT Mini Tour Order of Merit, and Red Deer’s Raylee Denton, who won the Girls 11-12 2022 MJT Mini Tour Order of Merit.

The winners each received a certificate and a complimentary MJT membership for next year.
