Central Alberta Kings U17 Volleyball team win Tier 3 silver at nationals

The Central Alberta Kings Volleyball Club Men’s U17 team travelled to Saskatoon last weekend to compete at nationals and returned home with a silver in the tier 3 division.

The Central Alberta Kings Volleyball Club Men’s U17 team travelled to Saskatoon last weekend to compete at nationals and returned home with a silver in the tier 3 division.

They finished fourth in their pool in round robin play on Friday losing to the Northern Alberta Volleyball Club, Ontario Thundercats and Brandon Volleyball Club.

In the reseeding round robin on Saturday the Kings finished second in their pool beating Winnipeg (18-25, 26-24, 15-7) and East Kootenay, but lost to Kelowna.

In the playoff round on Sunday the Kings took down Prince Albert in the quarter final (25-15, 21-25, 15-9) and the Ottawa Mavericks in the semi-final (25-14, 25-23).

The Kings squared off against Grande Prairie in the tier 3 final, but lost (25-23, 25-9) and settled for silver.
