Chiefs III chop Axemen in lacrosse final

Colten Woytas recorded a hat trick and Sam Ryan netted two goals as the Red Deer BDO Dunwoody Chiefs III downed the Calgary Axemen 10-6 in Monday’s midget final of the Tradition Lives lacrosse tournament.

Colten Woytas recorded a hat trick and Sam Ryan netted two goals as the Red Deer BDO Dunwoody Chiefs III downed the Calgary Axemen 10-6 in Monday’s midget final of the Tradition Lives lacrosse tournament.

Talon Zurfluh, Login Sinclair, Spencer Podgurshki, Mark Beingssner and Tucker Kambeitz each scored once for Dunwoody, which was undefeated in the tournament held at the Kinex, Kin City and the Collicutt Centre.

The Red Deer Chiefs I were bronze-medal winners.

The Innisfail Phantoms were gold medalists in the novice division, with the Red Deer Chiefs I and III earning silver and bronze.

The Red Deer Chiefs III mined gold in the peewee B category, with the Chiefs II taking bronze. Meanwhile, the Red Deer Chiefs were silver medalists in the peewee A division and the Chiefs II won bronze in the bantam B category.
