MADRID — Mandy Moran of Thunder Bay, Ont., and Calgary’s Hailey Casper won the bronze medal Sunday in the women’s three-metre synchro event at a FINA Grand Prix diving event.
China’s Lin Qu and Qulin Zheng won the gold medal with 312.60 points. Italy’s Tania Cagnotto and Francesca Dallape were second with 300.90, followed by Moran and Casper at 270.27.
It was the first career Grand Prix medal for both Canadian divers.
It was only the second time that Moran, 28, and Casper, 16, competed together.
“Our synchronization was on but our individual dives could have been better,” said Moran.
