Red Deer Rebels forward Landon Ferraro, currently with Team Canada at the world under-18 championship, is ranked 18th among North American skaters in the final Central Scouting Bureau rankings. Also listed in the Central Scouting rankings are Rebels forwards Cass Mappin (No. 73) and Willie Coetzee (No. 132) and defenceman Tommi Kivisto (No. 119). London Knights centre John Tavares is the top-ranked North American prospect for the 2009 NHL entry draft. Swedish defenceman Victor Hedman is No. 1 among Europeans skaters. Tavares has established an Ontario Hockey League record with 215 career goals, while the six-foot-six, 220-pound Hedman collected 21 points in 43 games for MoDo of the Swedish Elite League this season, earning rookie of the year honours.
