The Lacombe Generals made it a memorable night Friday in their first home game at the Gary Moe Auto Group Sportsplex this season.

The Generals hosted the Fort Saskatchewan Chiefs in Chinook Hockey League action and brought the hometown crowd plenty to cheer about with a thrilling 3-2 win.

Forward Jesse Todd had a goal and an assist for the Generals in the win to earn home star honours.

The Generals fell behind 1-0 midway through the first period, before Todd and Mike Wirll added goals to open up a 2-1 lead.

Evan Oberg scored the game-winning goal at 12:30 of the third and the Chiefs would add one late to finish off the scoring.

Kraymer Barnstable got the win for the Generals with 23 saves.
