Hayter leads team at Exelta Cup

Kaelan Hayter led the Red Deer Exelta Gymnastics Club in the girls’ artistic portion of the Exelta Cup at the Collicutt Centre during the weekend.

Kaelan Hayter led the Red Deer Exelta Gymnastics Club in the girls’ artistic portion of the Exelta Cup at the Collicutt Centre during the weekend.

Hayter placed second overall in the provincial 5 novice division while winning the beam, placing third in the vault and floor exercise and fourth on the uneven bars.

Hannah Bilsborrow was fourth in the division after winning the bars, placing second on the vault, fifth on the beam and sixth on the floor.

Erika Pearson, Molly Hall-Jarrett and Brook Antonsen also picked up fourth-place finishes.

Pearson competed in the national open division where she had a third on the vault, fourth on the beam and floor and fifth on the bars.

Antonsen won the provincial 4 tyro vault title to go with a fifth on the beam, seventh on the bars and eighth on the floor.

Hall-Jarrett was in the provincial 2 argo class and finished fourth on the vault and bars and seventh on the beam and floor.

Summer Anderson won the vault title in provincial 4 open competition to go with a third on the floor, eighth on beam, 10th on the bars and seventh overall.

Sydney Larson was eighth in the provincial 2 argo division while taking fifth on the beam and eighth on the bars.

Kayla Boyd placed ninth in the provincial 5 open category and Julia Plain 10th in the provincial 4 open.

Boyd was fourth on the beam, sixth on the bars, ninth on the vault and 10th on the floor while Plain was fourth on the beam, eighth on the vault and ninth on the floor.

As well, Casey Patsula was seventh on the bars in the provincial 1 argo class and Mataya Rideout was eighth on the vault in the provincial 2 argo division.
