Hervey is Esks' scout

Ed Hervey is the Edmonton Eskimos’ new head scout, the CFL team announced Monday. Hervey, who retired from football in March 2007, served as the team’s west coast scout the last two years.

Ed Hervey is the Edmonton Eskimos’ new head scout, the CFL team announced Monday. Hervey, who retired from football in March 2007, served as the team’s west coast scout the last two years. The former wide receiver was involved in the Eskimos’ preparation for 2007, 2008 and 2009 CFL drafts and helped co-ordinate several tryout camps. Hervey, 39, played eight seasons for the Eskimos from 1999 to 2006. In 118 career CFL games, Hervey made 476 catches for 6,715 yards and 43 touchdowns. The two-time CFL all-star also played in eight playoff games and three Grey Cup games, winning two in 2003 and 2005.
