Hockey Alberta reveals rosters for upcoming Spring Showcase

With the Hockey Alberta Spring Showcase just around the corner, the organization is gearing up to host all three events in Red Deer.

The showcase is made up of the Alberta Cup on April 27-30, the Alberta Challenge on May 4-7, and the Prospects Cup on May 11-14.

Altogether the trio of events will feature over 400 athletes from across the province and three champions will be determined.

The Alberta Cup and Alberta Challenge will each feature 120 players on six teams from the north, central, and south regions of Alberta. They will face off in a round-robin tournament that will take place at the Gary W. Harris Canada Games Centre.

In the Alberta Cup, Red Deer’s Kohen Lodge, Rocky Mountain House’s Nash Nicolay, Red Deer’s Dallin Antos, Lacombe’s Daxon Rudolph, and Red Deer’s Ryder Cyrenne will play on Team Black.

Meanwhile, on Team Blue Red Deer’s Easton Daneault and George Monaghan will be on the squad as well as Sylvan Lake’s Blayze Wheeler.

In the Alberta Challenge on Team North Blue Lacombe’s Addison Shaw will hit the ice and on Team North Yellow Rocky Mountain House’s Bree Prediger made the squad.

Furthermore, Stettler’s Summer Greiner, Red Deer’s Bailey Rogers, and Sylvan Lake’s Parker Small made Team South Black. Sylvan Lake’s Brylee Hull was also named to Team South Green.

The Alberta Cup will operate slightly differently.

The tournament will feature 160 players which will be split into eight teams who will compete in a round-robin style tournament.

Only two rosters will feature players from central Alberta which include both southern teams, called Team South Black and South Gold.

On South Black Sylvan Lake’s Calder Fraser, Red Deer’s Easton Kelahear, Sylvan Lake’s Kane Wheeler, Olds Noad Ulry, Olds Nolan Hardy, Red Deer’s Brody Mcgowan, Olds Evan Mueller, and Rocky Mountain House’s Cruz Nicolay.

On South Gold, Maximus Bigchild from Rocky Mountain House followed by Ponoka’s Brock Dubitz, Olds’ Jaxon Jaffray, Sylvan Lake’s Hudson Lloyd, Stettler’s Avery Acera, and Sylvan Lake’s Boston McCulloch.
