The Red Deer Rebels continued their hot start to the Western Hockey League (WHL) season with a 4-2 win over the Moose Jaw Warriors to remain undefeated.

In their first game on a two-game road trip to Saskatchewan, the Rebels took care of business Friday night most notably forward Ben King who had two goals in his season debut.

The Warriors opened the scoring in the first period with a snipe by Jagger Firkus with just 20 seconds left in the opening frame.

The Rebels evened it up midway through the second after Kai Uchacz scored his fifth goal of the season. Just five minutes later, forward Eric Alarie regained the lead for the Warriors.

However, their lead was short-lived. With less than a minute left in the middle frame, King fired in a rocket for his first of the year since returning from his stint with the Anaheim Ducks of the NHL.

Early in the third, King scored his second to give the Rebels a 3-2 lead and captain Jayden Grubbe added his first of the year less than two minutes after to seal the deal for Red Deer.

King finished the night with two goals and an assist, meanwhile, Grubbe also had a fantastic night on the scoresheet with two assists on top of his goal. Goaltender Kyle Kelsey was incredible once again and made 28 saves in the effort.

The Rebels are now 6-0 this season with one more game this week Saturday night in Swift Current to take on the Broncos at 7 p.m.
