Lacombe County’s Nyomi Yzerman will be ones of the athletes representing Canada at the 2021 FEI North American Youth Championships.
The event, being hosted in Traverse City, Michigan, from Aug. 9-15, brings together top dressage and jumping athletes from Canada, the United States and Mexico, where they will compete for team and individual medals.
Yzerman will compete in the children’s category for show jumping with the horses Bellota and WH Coconut – Yzerman and Agnes van den Tweel are listed as the owners. Taylor Wood and Livia Martin, both of Ontario, join Yzerman in the category.
Canada won 10 medals in both 2017 and 2018, and seven in 2019. For schedules and more information on NAYC 2021, visit www.usef.org.
