The Lacombe Generals will have a chance to repeat as Allan Cup champions in Bouctouche Saturday.

Lacombe erased a 3-2 deficit in the third period of the semi-final with six goals in the final frame to close out an 8-4 win over the South East Prairie Thunder Friday afternoon.

In the rematch of last year’s Allan Cup final where the Generals beat the Thunder 4-3 in overtime to clinch the title, Myles Bell put up a hat trick and Dennis Rix added two goals to clinch Lacombe’s second straight visit to the championship game.

Brandon Magee opened the scoring for Lacombe in the first on Friday and after South East tied the game, Bell scored his first of the day at 18:45 of period.

The Thunder scored twice in the second to take a 3-2 lead into the third before Lacombe’s goal outburst.

The Generals opened the period with three straight goals in 5:15 before Matt Lowry added a goal for South East.

Bell scored at 8:57 to give Lacombe a 6-4 advantage before Rix added one at 13:36. Teggan Moore finished the scoring with an empty net goal for the Generals late in the third.

Alex MacLeod, Eric Schneider and Ian Barteaux all added two assists in the win.

Kramer Barnstable made 19 saves in the Generals net for the victory.

The championship game will be aired on TSN at 1:30 p.m.
