SYLVAN LAKE — The host Sylvan Lake Lakers downed the Stettler Sliders 11-1 in the championship final of the Provincial mosquito community tier III baseball championships Sunday.

Chase Elwood was the player of the game for the Lakers while Matthew Sylvester received the award for Stettler.

The Lakers posted a undefeated record in round-robin play which gave them some breathing room heading into the final. They had to be beaten twice, which proved to be an advantage as Stettler won the first game 17-3.
