The B.C. Lions began clearing up their logjam at quarterback by releasing quarterback Buck Pierce on Tuesday. The move comes a day after Casey Printers agreed to a contract extension, and now leaves the team with four QBs on the roster. Jarious Jackson, Travis Lulay and Zac Champion are the others. “Buck has been a consummate professional during his time with our organization and in addition to thanking him for his efforts over the past five seasons we also wish him the very best in the future,” Lions GM and head coach Wally Buono said. Pierce and backup Jackson took most of the snaps at quarterback last season, each taking over when the other was injured. Eventually Printers was brought in and took over the starter’s role. Buck passed for 2,272 yards and 10 touchdowns in 12 games.
