Reitze captures bronze at bantam curling championship

Jeremy Reitze of the Red Deer Curling Centre captured bronze at the southern Alberta bantam curling championship during the weekend in Taber.

Reitze, with third Ty Parcels, second Emilee Anderson and lead Adam Leinweber — all of whom are under 14 — beat a team from the Calgary Garrison Curling Club 6-5 in eight ends in the bronze-medal contest.

The Red Deer foursome went into the bronze-medal game with a 3-1 record.


Titans to hold registration night

The Red Deer Titans Rugby Club will be holding a registration night for their U17 and U19 boys’ and girls’ programs on Thursday from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the Recreation Centre.

Players born in 1992-95 will be measured for their game jerseys and numbers will be assigned on a first come basis.

MGM Ford Lincoln will be provided jerseys for 30 boys and 30 girls.

The Titans youth program for ages seven-15 will also be registering on Thursday at the same time.
