The Lindsay Thurber High School annual teacher versus students charity hockey game was a success.

In front of approximately over 425 fans, the teachers defeated the students 9-8 in overtime for their first-ever victory last Friday.

More importantly, they raised $1,278 for the Central Alberta Humane Society.

The non-profit organization, formerly known as the Red Deer SPCA rescues, provides medical care and takes care of animals in the region. They also help many of those same animals find their forever homes.
