MacDonald named high school football MVP

Notre Dame Cougars outstanding running back Dale MacDonald was named the Central Alberta High School Football League most valuable player.

Notre Dame Cougars outstanding running back Dale MacDonald was named the Central Alberta High School Football League most valuable player.

MacDonald was honoured at the league’s annual all-star banquet, which was held in Rocky Mountain House.

Meanwhile, Lacombe’s running back Skylar Sargeant received the top offensive player award with the defensive MVP going to Lacombe linebacker Hugh Nutbrown.

Logan Morrical of the league champion Notre Dame Cougars was the lineman of the year and Lindsay Thurber running back Greg Fowler the top rookie.

The West Central Rebels of Rocky Mountain House received the sportsmanship award while Bill Nelson of Rocky, who has volunteered as a bus driver with the Rebels for the last 24 years, received the prestigious Founders Award.
