Nicholas Bennett won his first-ever silver medal at the Paralympic Games on Saturday.
The Parksville, B.C. native, who now calls Red Deer home, came second in the men's 200-metre freestyle S14 event in 1:53.61 which was 2.31 seconds behind Britain's William Ellard.
The 20-year-old swimmer qualified for the final after placing first in the first heat earlier in the day with a time of 1:54.72 in his second Paralympics in Paris.
Next up, he'll compete in the men's 100-metre breaststroke SB14 event on Monday, Sept. 2 and the men's 200-metre medley SM14 on Wednesday.
