Playoffs are underway in the North Central Senior AA Hockey League.

The Lacombe Senior AA Generals have continued where they left off in the North Central Senior Hockey League playoffs.

The Generals, who won their third league regular season title in the past four years, beat the eighth-seed Westlock Warriors 7-4 and 12-5 to open the best-of-five opening-round series.

Game 3 is 8:45 p.m. on Feb. 14 in Lacombe.

The second-ranked Wetaskiwin Longhorns also started off with a pair wins, dominating the Bonnyville Pontiacs 12-0 and 7-1 to open the series. Game 3 is Friday in Bonnyville.

The third-ranked Innisfail Eagles are tied 1-1 with the Devon Barons. Devon won 5-4 in double overtime to open the series, but Innisfail responded Sunday with a 6-4 win to even it at one. Game 3 is Feb. 14 in Innisfail, with Game 4 in Devon on Feb. 15.

The Stony Plain Eagles have a 2-0 stranglehold on their series with the Camrose Bruins. Stony Plain won both games 6-3. Game 3 of the series is Feb. 15 in Stony Plain.

This year's senior AA Hockey Provincial Championships will be held in Lethbridge on April 3-6.

The tournament will include teams from the Ranchland Hockey League (host plus league champion), plus league champions from the Sask-Alta Hockey League (top Alberta team), the North Peace Hockey League and the North Central Hockey League.
