North Star Chiefs fall to Raiders

The Red Deer North Star Chiefs dropped a 6-5 decision to the Keystone Raiders at the Arena Saturday.

Minor Midget AAA

The Red Deer North Star Chiefs dropped a 6-5 decision to the Keystone Raiders at the Arena Saturday.

Jack Goranson had a pair of goals for the Chiefs with Kyle Messervey, Jordy Potter and Logan Fisher adding single markers. Scott Ferguson had three assists while Brett Frisneth had 28 saves in goal.

In other action the Red Deer IROC Chiefs downed the Calgary Bruins 7-5 as they outscored the Bruins 4-1 in the third period.

Jacob Schofield and Spencer Yeats had two goals each for IROC with singled added by Zak Hicks, Kale Lapointe and Scott Feser. Red Deer held a 33-24 edge in shots on goal.

Midget

The Red Deer Prostich Chiefs downed the Brooks Storm 2-1 in AA league action Friday.

Tyler Cassidy and Jesse Rausch scored second-period goals for the Chiefs, who got 31-ssave performance from goaltender Taylor Steele.

• The Red Deer Prairie Bus Lines Chiefs split a pair of A plus league games during the weekend, beating Delburne 5-4 Sunday and losing to Viking 4-1 Saturday.

Jacob Bottomly had a pair of goals against Delburne with singles added by Tristan Redman, Braden Sparks and James Quick. Nicholas Galenzoski made 27 saves in goal.

Ryan Strome scored the lone goal against Viking with Raffic Manji took the loss in goal.

Major Bantam

The Red Deer Rebels Black split a pair of weekend games, downing Fort Saskatchewan 3-2 Sunday after losing 2-1 to the Calgary Bronks Saturday.

Trey deGraaf, Dylan Fontaine and Ryan Swier scored against Fort Saskatchewan while Brody Dirk made 267 saves in goal.

Dylan Houston connected for the Black against the Bronks while goaltender Joey Derosiers finished with 27 saves.

• The Red Deer Rebels White downed the Calgary Northstars 5-3 Sunday as Carter Swicki, Kaleb Denham, Allan Pruss, Logan Hermus and Ross Heidt scored once each. Rylan Bardick made 16 saves in goal.
