Off to the Island

Rob Schremp has found a new home on Long Island. The New York Islanders claimed the former first-round pick off waivers from the Edmonton Oilers on Tuesday. Schremp was a prolific scorer in junior that has yet to develop into a full-time NHLer — appearing in just seven games for the Oilers over the past three seasons. The 23-year-old from Syracuse, N.Y., will likely get more of an opportunity with the Islanders.
