EDMONTON — The Edmonton Oilers picked up forward Ryan Jones off waivers just ahead of Wednesday’s trade deadline.

Jones played 41 games with the Nashville Predators this season, recording seven goals and four assists. He had seven goals and 10 assists in 46 games last season for the Preds.

Jones was selected in the fourth round, 111th overall, by the Minnesota Wild in the 2004 draft.

The Oilers are widely expected to be players at the trade deadline. On Monday, the team traded defenceman Denis Grebeshkov to Nashville for a second-round draft pick.
