EDMONTON — The RDC Queens went into the Alberta Colleges Women’s Soccer League playoffs knowing they had to play letter perfect if they had any hope of advancing out of the quarter-finals.

But that wasn’t to be.

They made a couple of errors defensively, which the NAIT Ooks took advantage of on their way to a 3-0 victory Friday afternoon.

“Two of their three goals were the result of errors on our part and you can’t do that against a team of that quality,” said Queens head coach Dave Colley. “Their first goal was the result of a poor pass, which they intercepted and send the league’s top scorer (Leanne Kadatz) in one-on-one against our keeper.

“Up to that point we were playing well, in fact after the goal we played well until late in the half when they scored on a header that just dribbled in. That seemed to kill any momentum we had.”

l Four members of the RDC soccer teams were named to the Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference All-Conference teams.

Forward Joe Ziebart and keeper Brad Hughes were named to the men’s squad with midfielder Julie Farmer and defender Amber Regnier to the women’s team.
