REGINA — One night after routing the Brandon Wheat Kings on the road, the Red Deer Rebels fell apart in Regina, losing 7-3 to the Pats.

The Pats got a huge game from defenceman Matt Delahey who scored twice and added an assist, while centreman Jordan Weal scored once and added three assists for four points.

After the Rebels held on to a 1-1 tie through 20 minutes, getting outshot 15-6, the flood gates opened in the second as the Pats scored three times on nine shots while the Rebels could only answer with one goal of their own, to go up 4-2. The Pats put it away in the third period with another three goals.

The loss spoiled a big three-goal performance from Rebels’ newcomer Andrej Kudrna, while Willie Coetzee was in on all three of his tallies with Ryan Nugent-Hopkins picking up an assist as well.

Kyle Mulder, Brett Leffler and Graham Hood all scored a goal and an assist for the Pats while Michal Poletin scored the other Pats’ goal.

Kraymer Barstable started for the Rebels but was chased after allowing four goals on 17 shots and was replaced by Darcy Kuemper who was beat three times on 14 shots.

Dawson Guhle went the distance in the Regina net making 17 saves on 20 shots.
