Payton LaGrange wins Team North MVP at Senior Bowl

Red Deer’s own Payton LaGrange was a defensive standout at the annual Senior Bowl High School Football All-Star game on the weekend.

Red Deer’s own Payton LaGrange was a defensive standout at the annual Senior Bowl High School Football All-Star game on the weekend.

The defensive back was the MVP of Team North, with a 44-yard interception returned for a touchdown in the 26-15 loss Monday at McMahon Stadium in Calgary.

LaGrange also had two knockdowns in the loss and was all over the field on special teams. His interception gave Team North a 9-3 lead at halftime.

Jacob Plamondon of the Notre Dame Cougars also had an impact in the final result, as he was named Team North lineman of the game.

Also from Notre Dame, quarterback Devin Desormeau completed three of 10 pass attempts for 25 yards with his longest pass going for 12 yards.

Receiver Kristian Guhl, had one reception for six yards in the game.
