LYNNWOOD — Lynnwood guard Nina Wilson scored a school freshman record 32 points (20 in the second half) to propel the Royals (1-2) to their first win of the season. With the game knotted at 21 after two quarters, Wilson’s 20 second-half points proved crucial in helping Lynnwood pull away late. Everett junior guard Akira Shaw had a team-high 15 points as the Seagulls dropped to 1-4.
Glacier Peak 56, Shorewood 49
SHORELINE — The Grizzlies (3-0) stayed undefeated by staging a second-half comeback against the Stormrays (1-3). The game featured a combined 16 made 3s, eight by each team. Glacier Peak senior guard Brynna Pukis hit four of those 3s, finishing with a game-high 18 points. Shorewood was paced by senior guards Rylie Gettmann and Vannessa Spadafora, who each finished with 13 points.
Monroe 55, Jackson 50
MILL CREEK — The Bearcats (1-3) found themselves in another close matchup Wednesday night, but were able to pull out the win this time. Senior guard Halle Keller led Monroe in scoring with 15 points, while fellow senior Cascadia Yates put in 12. The loss dropped Jackson to 1-2 on the season as the Timberwolves were paced by sophomore guard Alexis Eichhorn’s 15 points.
Meadowdale 63, Arlington 47
LYNNWOOD — The Mavericks’ (1-1) excellent defensive start led to a comfortable win over the visiting Eagles (0-3). Meadowdale allowed just three points in the opening frame, sparking a 12-point halftime lead. On offense, senior forward Audrey Lucas had a game-high 17 for the Mavs. The Eagles were paced by junior guard Addi Green’s 14 points (nine in the fourth quarter).
Sultan 65, Auburn Adventist 36
AUBURN — Senior Gaby Yepez Suarez had a game-high 22 points in a blowout win for Sultan (3-2). The Lady Turks turned a 23-17 halftime lead into much more thanks to an offensive outburst, outscoring the Falcons (0-4) 42-19 in the second half. Auburn Adventist senior Sophia Ellis had a team-high 12 points on four 3s.
Mountlake Terrace 52, Cascade 14
MOUNTLAKE TERRACE — The Hawks (3-0) cruised to a home win over the Bruins (1-3) thanks in part to sophomore Jordyn Stoke’s game-high 14 points. Senior Sally Sylla led Cascade with five points.
