Edge 4 RDC 1

By the time the RDC Queens got their act together against the Edge Hockey Academy of Calgary it was too late.

The Queens turned in a poor opening period, falling behind 2-0, which proved to much to overcome as they dropped a 4-1 decision in exhibition play at the Arena Thursday.

“We lost most one-on-one battles in that first period and they have some very talented players and took advantage of it,” said Queens head coach Trevor Keeper.

“After the first period it was an even game, in fact we outshot them over the final 40 minutes.”

The Queens finished with a 25-20 decision in shots on goal.

RDC opens their regular Alberta Colleges Women’s Hockey League season next Thursday against the SAIT Trojans at 7 p.m. at the Arena.
