The RDC Queens slid into the Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference playoffs in style.

With a month remaining on the regular-season calendar, the Queens clinched a playoff spot Thursday night with a come-from-behind win over the Olds College Broncos.

The Broncos opened the affair with a goal from Danica Dahlin in the first before the Queens started the comeback in the third.

Ashley Sutherland tied the game at one for RDC at 7:43 on the power play and Mariah McKersie buried with just 1:17 left in regulation to clinch the victory.

Queens goalie Madison Fox was solid in the win, turning aside 29 shots. Lexi Bruce did all she could in the Broncos net, stopping 41 shots in the 2-1 loss.

Sutherland, with a goal and an assist, was player of the game for RDC, while Bruce earned the honour for Olds.

The win pushed the Queens to 24 points on the year with a 11-4-2-0 record, just two points back of the MacEwan University Griffins for first in the ACAC.

RDC will host the Broncos at home on Jan. 25 at the Gary W. Harris Canada Games Centre.
