Red Deer Polytechnic is set to host the 2025 Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association Women's Soccer Championships.

In an announcement Tuesday, the institution said the four-day championship will be held at Settlers Place in Great Chief Park. The event will take place from Nov. 5 to 8, and the host team will receive automatic entry.

“We are proud to welcome the top Canadian collegiate women’s soccer teams to Red Deer next year,” said Randy Stewart, Manager, Athletics and Student Life at RDP in a press release. “We will leverage our success of hosting recent CCAA National Championships to ensure that student-athletes, athletics staff and fans across Canada have an enjoyable and memorable experience.”

In 2022, the Queens (11-1-0) finished first in the ACAC South Division and won gold at the ACAC Championship, advancing to the CCAA National Championship. The RDP Queens battled through injuries and finished sixth in the country.
This fall, the Queens (9-3) ranked second in the South Division during the regular season and finished fourth in the 14-team league at the ACAC Championship in Grande Prairie.

“Mahziar Peyrow, Queens Soccer Head Coach, and his staff have done an excellent job of recruiting student-athletes who strive for excellence in the classroom, during competition and as ambassadors in the community,” noted Stewart in the release. “With nine first-year student-athletes and three second-year players this season, the RDP Queens will build on their experiences as they prepare to compete for both the ACAC and CCAA Championships in 2025.”

RDP has a long history of hosting national championships, most recently hosting the 2019 CCAA Men’s Volleyball National Championship and 2024 CCAA Women’s Volleyball National Championship in Red Deer.

The women's college national soccer championship was last held in Alberta in 2019, at Concordia University of Edmonton.
