Red Deer Polytechnic Kings Volleyball players have been growing out their moustaches throughout Movember.

Movember, formed back in 2003, is an international event that takes place throughout the entire month of November and aims to raise funds and awareness for men’s health.

Last year alone, Canada raised $24.6 million and 80.5 per cent of the money raised were allocated to men’s health projects.

Kings Volleyball has been participating in Movember for a number of years.

“This is really important to our group,” said head coach Aaron Schulha.

“I think we all have been impacted in one way or another, so it is the matter of giving back a little and showing that we are doing the right things in the community. It is really good for the guys to be giving back to the community that has supported them over the years whether it was with donations to the program or just coming out on gameday and cheering us on.”
