Red Deer Rebels forward Kalan Lind has officially inked an NHL deal.
On Thursday morning, the Nashville Predators announced the team has signed the 18-year-old from Shaunavon, Sask. to a three-year entry-level deal.
Just last week the Predators selected Lind 46th overall in the second round of the 2023 NHL Entry Draft.
In a previous media availability following the draft in Nashville Lind said he was thrilled to join the Predators.
“I just know it’s a great organization and I kinda watched them growing up,” he said.
“I’ve been here a couple times, and watched a couple of playoff games against Anaheim the one year, so it’s pretty cool. They’re a great team, first-class organization. It’s going to be awesome… the crowds are amazing it was one of the loudest buildings I’ve ever been in. It’s going to be awesome to play in front of these fans one day.”
In the 2022-23 season, Lind reached a Western Hockey League career-high 44 points (16 goals and 28 assists) in 43 games and added five more in 10 playoff games.
