The Red Deer Rebels all-time leading scorer Arron Asham is the latest alumni member to receive his own bobblehead.

The Rebels revealed on Tuesday that the first 1,500 fans through the doors of the Peavey Mart Centrium for Friday’s game against the Swift Current Broncos will receive a bobblehead.

Asham becomes the ninth Rebels legend to be honoured with a bobblehead along with Colby Armstrong, Matt Dumba, Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, Dion Phaneuf, Brandon Sutter, Cam Moon, Cam Ward, and Woolly Bully.

Alongside several other members of Rebels alumni, Asham will be in attendance and will be available for autographs during the second intermission.

He played 266 regular season games with the Rebels from 1994-98 and recorded a franchise-leading 292 points. Asham holds the Rebels record in goals with 131 and is second in assists with 161. He also had 37 points in 31 playoff games.

Following his five-year stint with the Rebels, he was drafted 71st overall by the Montreal Canadiens in the 1996 NHL Entry Draft.

He played 789 NHL games over 15 seasons over multiple franchises including the Canadiens, the New York Islanders, the New Jersey Devils, the Philadelphia Flyers, the Pittsburgh Penguins, and the New York Rangers.
