The Red Deer Rebels continued to shuffle the deck Wednesday.

A day after acquiring 17-year-old forward Cohner Saleski, the Rebels pulled the trigger again. They dealt defenceman Ryan Gottfried to the Seattle Thunderbirds in exchange for 16-year-old prospect Noah Barlage and a conditional seventh round pick in the 2022 WHL Bantam Draft.

Gottfried, 18, was released from the Rebels active roster to Neepawa of the Manitoba Junior League on Sept. 26.

Barlage, a defenceman, was a seventh round pick of the Thunderbirds in the 2018 WHL Bantam Draft and is currently playing for the Humboldt Broncos of the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League.

The six-foot, 165-pound Humboldt product has played five games with the Broncos this season and recorded one assist. Last year he played for the Prairie Hockey Academy in the Canadian Sport School Hockey League, notching six goals and 16 assists in 35 games.
