Red Deer College Kings hockey scoring woes continue

PENHOLD – The RDC Kings still have problems scoring as they dropped a 4-1 Alberta Colleges Men’s Hockey League exhibition game to the University of Alberta, Augustana Vikings at the Regional Multiplex Saturday.

The Vikings led 1-0 and 2-0 by periods on goals by Paul Lovsin at 13:15 of the first period and Jeff Lorenz at 19:55 of the middle stanza.

Adam Osczerski made it 3-0 at 9:24 of the third frame before Tyler Berkholtz scored on the power play for RDC at 16:46.

Logan Sproule had an empty net marker at 18:32.

Mike Salmon started in goal for the Kings and made 15 saves, allowing one goal in 29 minutes 20 second. Devon Fordyce allowed two goals on 13 shots.

The Kings had 30 shots on Zach deGraves.

The Kings were one-for-four on the power play while Camrose was zero-for-four.

The Kings return to league play Feb. 27 at SAIT. They host SAIT Feb. 28.
