Ridleigh Hansen and Team Alberta are set to play for gold at the 2021 Western Regional Women’s U18 Championship in Manitoba Saturday.
Hansen, a Red Deer Minor Hockey product and goalie is the only Central Albertan playing for the province at the event.
In the opening game of the tournament, Hansen made 16 saves in a 7-1 victory over Saskatchewan.
Thursday, Hansen turned aside 23 shots in a 2-1 win for Alberta over B.C.
Alberta won its semi-final game Friday, knocking off Saskatchewan 2-0 to advance to the final.
Team Alberta will play in the championship game Saturday afternoon at 2:30 p.m. MST.
