The Red Deer Rampage and Renegades came prepared to begin their seasons in the Rocky Mountain Lacrosse League (RMLL).

Just a handful of games in for both teams and the results are already showing on the score sheet.

The Rampage, who are in the Junior B Tier I division in the RMLL, posted a 2-1 record in the first three games that first began on April 28.

They opened the season with a 9-6 over the Calgary Chill Lacrosse Club but less than a week later took down the Beaumont Jr. Outlaws 10-7 on the road.

Most recently, they suffered their first loss of the 2024 campaign losing to the Rockyview Silvertips 5-2 in Red Deer. Heading into the third period at the Dawe Community Centre tied at two, the Silvertips score three unanswered to secure the victory.

Traford Couchman and Isaac Tisdale both found the back of the net for the Rampage off assists from Ryley Dowswell and Graeme Simpson. Meanwhile, Nate Shaback scored a hat trick for Rockyview with goals from Chase Tweit and Chase Penner.

In three games, Tisdale leads the way for the Rampage with five goals followed by Couchman with four goals. In net, goaltender Carson Wells leads the way with two starts where he's posted a 91.2 save percentage and has given up 10 goals on 113 shots. Goaltender Dylan Dowswell started just one game so far and recorded an 82.9 save percentage with seven goals on 41 shots.

The RMLL Junior B Tier II Rampage are celebrating an incredible 4-0 start to the season to remain undefeated.

In their first two games of the season, they defeated the St. Albert Crude 10-7 and the Lloydminster Xtreme 7-6 in overtime. Red Deer's Tanner Kotowich scored twice including the extra frame to win at home.

The Renegades kept their streak of overtime games going this past weekend knocking off the Southern Alberta Chaos 13-12 in OT and the Calgary Wranglers 21-11 in extra time on the road.

Kotowich was the hero once again in both games scoring 2:38 into overtime to complete the hat trick over the Chaos and again in Calgary just 3:42 into the extra period.

So far, he leads the team with eight goals and five assists in four games followed by Derian Clark who has six goals and six assists.

The Rampage and Renegades will both be back in action this weekend.

The Rampage will take on the Mountain View Mavericks on Friday at 8 p.m. at Innisfail Arena followed by a matchup with the Okotoks Marauders on Saturday at 5 p.m. at the Dawe Community Centre.

The Renegades will play just one game this week on Saturday against the Edmonton Warriors at 3:30 p.m.
