A Red Deer mixed martial artist’s first professional fight didn’t go exactly as planned.

Jett Grande, 23, fought Damon Morosko to a majority draw in the main event of Xtreme Fighting Championships’ YoungGuns 3 at Deltaplex Arena in Grand Rapids, Michigan, Friday night.

One of the three judges thought Grande won the fight 29-28, but the other two judges scored the fight 28-28.

Young Guns 3 aired right before XFC 45.

Grande told The Advocate prior to the event that he had signed a four-fight deal with XFC.

“It was a really good opportunity – it’s a big, solid promotion,” he said on July 31.

Prior to his professional debut, Grande won 15 of his 16 amateur MMA bouts around the world – his resumé includes a world championship, Pan American Title and national championship.
