The rosters are set for the 2017 Alberta Cup at the end of the month and several local hockey players will anchor Team Central.

Eight teams with 20-players each make up the rosters, with the tournament spanning over four days from April 26-30 in Canmore.

The 2002-born players were selected based on performances from zone camps held March 24-26.

On forward, Keaton Sorenson (Red Deer), Brett Meerman (Blackfalds), Kaleb Kremp (Innisfail), Noah Danielson (Red Deer) and Silas Buijs (Red Deer) will represent Team Central.

Goalie Logan Breen (Red Deer) will be one of the netminders for Team Central and on defence Mason Mueller (Red Deer), Alex Lister (Red Deer Country) and Chase Giannioudis (Red Deer).

The players will also participate in an education seminar hosted by the WHL.
