Red Deer Polytechnic soccer has big weekend against Olds College

The Red Deer Polytechnic Kings and Queens soccer teams went 2-0-1 against the Olds College Broncos this past weekend in Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference action.

The Red Deer Polytechnic Kings and Queens soccer teams went 2-0-1 against the Olds College Broncos this past weekend in Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference action.

The Queens picked up a 5-0 victory over the Broncos on Sunday, thanks to a pair of goals from Jenica Swartz and singles from Corbynn Fujimoto, Paige Kalbfleisch and Grace Smith.

Queens soccer is now 1-1-0 on the season while the Broncos are 2-2-0.

Meanwhile, the Kings first played the Broncos to a 1-1 draw at Olds College Saturday. No RDP student-athlete was credited with a goal, as a Broncos defender redirected the ball into his own net.

Goalkeeper Jared St Thomas made five saves for the Kings.

On Sunday, the Kings dominated the Bronocs 5-0 at RDP’s Main Field. Kirk Moody, Pedro Humberto Mourao Neto, Kaidri Bornyi, Hayden Jacobs and Gabriel Fleury de Queiroz contributed goals for RDP.

After the weekend, the Kings now sit at 2-0-1 and the Broncos have fallen to 1-2-1 on the season.
