Red Deer Polytechnic volleyball teams beat Lethbridge Kodiaks

The Red Deer Polytechnic Kings and Queens Cross Country Running teams both finished in the top 10 at the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association National Championships this past weekend.

The Red Deer Polytechnic Kings and Queens Cross Country Running teams both finished in the top 10 at the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association National Championships this past weekend.

On Saturday, the Kings places eighth and the Queens finished 10th. Red Deer’s Devin Saunders (27:41) led the way for the Kings, placing 24th among male participants over eight kilometres. Strathmore’s Justine Larson (25:43) paced the Queens, sealing 31st among female participants over six kilometres.

In basketball, the Kings been the Lethbridge College Kodiaks 83-74 on Sunday in Lethbridge, thanks to a 30-point performance from Tyronn King. RDP lost to Lethbridge College 90-83 Friday.

The Queens also beat Lethbridge College on the basketball court 75-68 Sunday, following a 74-66 defeat Friday.

The Kings and Queens volleyball team swept the competition in matchups against Lethbridge College on Sunday. The Kings beats the Kodiaks in straight sets (25-17, 25-15 and 26-24) at the Gary W. Harris Canada Games Centre. The Queens beat the Kodiaks (25-17, 25-15 and 26-24).

Both volleyball teams also defeated Lethbridge College on Friday night as well.
