Red Deer Raptors fans pack Deerassic Park for Game 5

In what started as a simple viewing party outside Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, a national movement has grown.

Locations all across the country hosted their own version of Toronto’s Jurassic Park, a gathering area for basketball fans to watch the incredible playoff run by the NBA’s Toronto Raptors this year.

Red Deer was no exception for Game 5 of the NBA Finals against the Golden State Warriors on Monday, hosting more than 1,400 people at “Deerassic Park” at Servus Arena downtown.

The Red Deer Royals opened the festivities with a performance in the lobby, followed by the fans giving their own rendition of O’ Canada.
