Red Deer Rebels sign forward Nickolas Kovich

Drafted by the Rebels in the fourth round

The Red Deer Rebels announced on Wednesday they’ve signed Nickolas Kovich to a WHL Scholarship and Development Agreement.

The 15-year-old from Richmond, B.C. was taken by the Rebels 75th overall in the fourth round of the 2023 WHL Prospects Draft.

He also saw recent success at Rebels training camp scoring the game-winning goal in the shootout during the team’s annual black and white game on Tuesday night.

Last season the right-shooting forward notched 36 points in 21 games with Delta Hockey Academy U15 Prep and added two points in three games during the postseason.

Standing at 6’1” and 165 pounds he’ll suit up for the Delta Hockey Academy U18 prep team in this upcoming season.
