The Red Deer Riggers got their redemption Tuesday, defeating the St. Albert Tigers 5-2 at Great Chief Park.
The win came four days after a crushing defeat in St. Albert and with the victory, they improve to 4-2 on the season.
It was a different story Tuesday, thanks to a great pitching performance for the Riggers by Josh Edwards and Anthony Chatwood.
Edwards pitched three innings only allowing two hits and had three strikeouts. Meanwhile, Chatwood only allowed one hit in three innings pitched with three strikeouts.
Jay Kirkham and Mason Love-Hollman came up big for the Riggers hammering in two RBI each.
The Riggers got all of their runs in early scoring one in the opening frame and four in the second inning. The Tigers also scored a run in the first inning but didn’t get their second until late in the game.
The Riggers will play at home again on Friday against the Athletics in Great Chief Park at 7:30 p.m.
