Red Deer Rush U19A crowned champs at Friends on Ice tournament

Ringette teams from all across the province converged on Red Deer over the weekend for Red Deer Ringette's 40th Friends on Ice tournament.

The Red Deer Rush U19A won 7-5 to capture gold in the final at the 40th annual Friends on Ice ringette tournament.

Ringette teams from all across the province converged on Red Deer over the weekend for Red Deer Ringette's 40th Friends on Ice tournament. 

"We sincerely appreciate the immense support for Friends On Ice that we receive from the visiting teams, community organizations, players, families, and friends! All contributions are vital to the success of this tournament and our organization and we are deeply grateful," Red Deer Ringette said in a social media post Saturday. 

Over 65 teams of all ages and skill levels competed over the weekend at the Kinsmen, Dawe and Collicutt Centre arenas.

The Red Deer Rush U19A team earned gold at the event, capturing the title with a 7-5 victory over the Calgary Northwest Mavericks. Red Deer's roster included: 

Leah Kilpatrick, Avery Smith, Sienna Begley, Kylie Maris, Kaidyn Maris, Addi McMahon, Haley Wilkinson, Hadley Guenther, Madelynn Normand, Blaire Campbell, Ally George, Koda Edwards, Arwynn Abbott, Grace Debogorski, Mya McCullough and Kacey Talsma.

U10 Step 1: Spruce Grove S1-2 Black Panthers

U10 Step 3: Calgary NW Bandits

U12A: South Calgary Rush

U12B: Lethbridge U12B

U14C: Peace River Chargers

U16A: CNW Charge U16A

U16B: Edmonton U16B

U19B: Calgary NW Mavericks
