The Red Deer Porttin' Pipeline Braves are on fire.

Last weekend the U18 AAA Tier II team completed their second consecutive series sweep to improve to 9-3 in the Baseball Alberta Provincial League.

The Braves blew out the Calgary Bisons on the road to extend their win streak to eight games. They began the weekend with a pair of 27-6 and 19-1 victories at Glamere Park on Saturday followed by two more 18-3 and 14-5 wins on Sunday.

The weekend prior the Braves also swept the Neutral Hills Wranglers in Veteran, Alta in impressive fashion including 6-5, 14-10, 12-9, and 11-5 wins on the road.

The win streak moved the Braves into first place in the league standings and are two points ahead of the Edmonton Expos and six points ahead of the Fort McMurray Oil Giants.

They will look to extend their win streak on Wednesday when they face off with the Expos at 6:30 p.m. in Edmonton at John Fry Park.

The Braves will then host the Parkland Twins this weekend for their first four-game series at home this season. The series at Great Chief Park begins on Saturday at noon followed by a matchup at 3 p.m. They'll wrap up the series on Sunday with games at noon and 3 p.m. once again.
