Vipers 6 Wranglers 3 (Wranglers lead series 3-1)
The Red Deer Vipers are still alive in the Heritage Junior B Hockey League North Division semifinal.
Red Deer staved off elimination in Sylvan Lake Thursday, knocking off the Wranglers 6-3 in Game 4 to keep the series alive. Sylvan Lake leads the best-of-seven series 3-1.
Keaton Sawicki led the way for Red Deer with two goals, while Jacksyn Goodall had a goal and two assists and Jace Paarup had a goal and an assist. Tanner Scott and Austin Gallant also scored in the win.
Brett Westin and Taite Opdendreis had goals for Sylvan Lake.
Dawson Weatherill made 28 saves for the win in the Vipers net.
Red Deer led 3-1 after the first and 5-1 through 40 minutes and was able to hold on for the victory.
Game 5 goes Saturday at 8 p.m. at Servus Arena.
