The McLennan Ross Alberta Junior Tour came to a gripping conclusion in Nanton Tuesday.

As the 24th season of the tour wound down, players competed in Nanton at one of the few charter sites that started with the tour back in 1996.

Red Deer’s Cole Bergheim, a regular on the tour the last few seasons won the junior boys born in 2000-04 with a score of 73. A busy summer of other junior events meant it was the first appearance on the junior tour for Bergheim.

Arthur Deng of Glencoe finished second with a 76 and both players earned a spot into the tour championship on Friday at Wolk Creek.

Innisfail’s Joe Kelly, who already has a spot in the championship, fired an 82 and won the 2003-04 boys category.

The one-day Tour Championship is set for Friday in Ponoka at Wolf Creek.
