Jeremiah Lauzon is now officially the fastest under 20 200 metre runner in Canada.

At the Canadian Track and Field Championships in Montreal, Quebec, Lauzon finished in 21.24 seconds to earn gold, just ahead of Gage Marshall. The time was just off his personal best of 20.90 that he ran in Calgary earlier this year.

The Red Deer teen also had the top qualifying time on Saturday, finishing his heat in 21.58.

Lauzon also qualified for the final earlier this summer at the U20 Pan American Games in Costa Rica. He finished just off the podium in fifth with a 21.18.
