After day two of the Alberta U19 Championship, Red Deer’s Eileen Park and Logan Graf are leading the way.

In the girls competition, 13-year-old Park has a six-stroke lead after shooting a 68 and 72 to lead the tournament at four-under par. Earl Grey Golf Club’s Brynne Davies is in second at two-over par.

Park said in a video interview with Alberta Golf she anticipates it will be a tight round on Friday.

“Just got to try and be better tomorrow than today. Just try and make less mistakes than today,” she said.

Park added she thought her tee shots were pretty straight on day two and thought the fairways were more tight than originally anticipated. Park just came off a sixth place finish at the Alberta Ladies Championship in Canmore and said it was a great experience. Last year Park lost in a playoff in the Alberta U19 championship tp Grace Bell in Carstairs.

“My golf game has got better than last year so I feel like I have got a good chance of winning it this year,” she explained.

Meanwhile on the boys side, Graf is in a three-way tie for first place with Ethan Wilson and Sebastian Berube at two-under par. Graf has shot 70 and 72 and will look to bring home the win on the final day Thursday.

Also from Red Deer Cole Bergheim dropped 10 spots on Wednesday and sits in 13th place at four-over par. Alex Gerrard from Red Deer is at 10-over par but jumped up nine spots after shooting 76 and 78.
