Shae Demale elevated her game once again in her sophomore campaign with the Saint Mary’s University Huskies.

The Red Deer product, in her second season in the Atlantic University Sport conference, posted 12 goals and 17 assists in 29 games.

She led the team in both assists and points and for her efforts, the 19-year-old was named an AUS first-team all-star. Her point total was fourth-best in Canada.

In her rookie season, the former Red Deer Midget AAA Sutter Fund Chief led the Huskies in goals last season with 13 and was eighth-best in the country.

Demale helped the Huskies to a 22-6 mark this season and first-place finish overall. They will play the University of New Brunswick Reds in the opening round of the playoffs, which kick off Saturday.
